What's going on?

What's happening to this country?Where is it going to?I have been meaning to write about this issue for a while.
Apparently, about a month ago,Firas Hatoum,a news reporter from the Lebanese "New TV" broke into the house "Mohammed Zuhair Siddiq",the primary witness of the assasination of former PM Rafiq Hariri.Alongside 2 other crew members,he felt free to tamper with the evidence inside the house, assuming that it would be the scoop of the day. However, he was caught with the other 2, and have since then been in jail.
Now, New TV seems to be making a living martyr out of the fellow. They send petitions for the release of their hero. How could anyone be so irrational? What happened to the spirits of the late Gebran Tueni and Samir Kassir, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of free and just journalism?
Of course, every human being feels sorry for anyone staying in jail... even I do!
In my opinion,Hatoum should be given 2 choices:Either to stay in jail and be tried, or to be released from jail, but have his journalism license taken away.
Rest in peace Gebran and Samir, Hatoum is lucky you weren't alive to see this.
